Rule 15A.23 Filing of Sealed Documents

If you want to keep certain documents private in a case, you need to file a motion asking the court to seal them. This motion must be filed electronically and shared with the other people involved in the case, just like any other court filing.

The documents you want sealed are handled differently. Instead of filing them yourself, you give them directly to the court clerk. The clerk will then file these documents electronically under seal, which means they stay protected from public view. After that, the clerk gives you back the original documents.
