Rule 22.05 Effect of Failure to Appear at Oral Argument or Hearing

If you don't show up for a scheduled court hearing or oral argument, and you didn't have a good reason for missing it, the judge can still go ahead without you. The court will hear from whoever did show up and make a decision on the motion being argued.

This means skipping a hearing can hurt your case. You lose the chance to argue your side, and the other party gets to make their case without any pushback from you. If something comes up and you can't make it, you need to let the court know ahead of time and explain why. Otherwise, you risk having a ruling made against you simply because you weren't there to speak up.
