Rule 30.03 Effect of Having Been Released Previous to Indictment

If someone was already let out on bond or other release conditions before a grand jury formally charged them (indicted them), those same release conditions stay in place after the indictment. This applies whether the indictment covers the exact same charges or other charges that came from the same incident.

The conditions don't automatically change just because the grand jury took action. A judge can only change the release terms after holding a hearing. This means the person doesn't have to worry about being picked up or facing new bond conditions right after an indictment, as long as nothing else has changed. Any changes to bail or release terms must go through a judge first, with both sides having a chance to be heard.
