This summary is not the rule. The rule text controls.
This rule used to explain when a child's statement could be used as evidence in juvenile court. It no longer applies. Alabama courts got rid of this rule back in 2006.
If you're looking at an older case or document that mentions Rule 21, keep in mind it no longer has any legal effect. The courts now handle questions about children's statements in other ways, through different rules or general evidence law. If you need to know how a child's statement might be used in a current case, you should look at the rules that are in effect now, not this old one.
