Rule M Appeals.

If you lose your small claims case and want to appeal, you have to act fast. You must file a notice of appeal with the court clerk within 14 days of the judgment. Miss this deadline, and you lose your chance to appeal.

You also need to cover the costs of the appeal. You can do this by paying a bond or cash to secure those costs. If you can't afford this, you can instead file an affidavit explaining that paying would cause you serious financial hardship. A judge has to review and approve whichever option you choose.

Finally, the court is required to tell the losing party that they have the right to appeal. So if you lose your case, the court should let you know this option exists and explain the steps to take.
