About This Court
The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Mexico is a unit of the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico and operates within the Tenth Circuit. The court has jurisdiction over all bankruptcy proceedings filed within the state of New Mexico, covering all 33 counties. Bankruptcy judges are appointed by the court of appeals for the circuit in which the district is located and serve fourteen-year terms.
