Rule 90.206 Instructing jury on judicial notice

When a judge decides that a certain fact is so well-known or easily proven that it cannot reasonably be questioned, the judge can tell the jury to accept that fact as true. This is called "judicial notice."

For example, a judge might tell the jury to accept that a certain date fell on a Tuesday, or that a particular city is located in Florida. The jury does not need to weigh evidence or debate these kinds of facts because they are already established.
