Rule 15-4 Ex Parte Orders

Sometimes a person can ask the court to temporarily hide or limit access to a court record without the other side knowing about it first. This is called an "ex parte" request, meaning only one side is involved when the judge makes the decision.

To get this kind of order, you must show compelling circumstances and back up your request with a sworn written statement called an affidavit. If the judge agrees, the record can be kept restricted for up to 30 days.
