Rule 17-6 Voluntary Recusal

Sometimes a Business Court judge will step aside from a case. This can happen because one of the parties asked the judge to step aside, or because the judge decided on their own to do so.

When a judge steps aside, a new judge is assigned to the case using the same process described in Rule 17-4. The fact that a judge stepped aside does not mean the judge agreed or disagreed with any reasons given for why they should have left the case.
