§ 24-11-26 [Clerk Furnishes Certified Established Duplicate Paper]

If a court document gets lost or destroyed, a person can go through a legal process to create an official replacement copy. Once a court approves that replacement, the court clerk gives the new copy to the person who requested it.

Before the clerk hands over the replacement document, the person must pay all the court costs from the process. The clerk also adds a note on the document showing the exact date and court session when the replacement was officially approved.
