§ 24-8-821 [Use of Opposing Party Pleading Admissions]

When one side in a lawsuit makes a statement or admission in their court filings, the other side can use that statement against them in court. They do not have to formally submit the document as evidence to do this.

For example, if the opposing party wrote something in their complaint or answer that helps your case, you can point to that statement during the case. The fact that they already admitted it in their own filing is enough.
