Rule 3.3.9 Binding authority.

When a lawyer represents you in court, they have the power to make agreements on your behalf. This is true even if you did not specifically tell your lawyer to make a particular agreement. The court will treat your lawyer's agreements as if you made them yourself.

If your lawyer makes an agreement by speaking out loud (not in writing), that agreement can still be enforced. So if your lawyer verbally agrees to something with the other side, you may be bound by that agreement even without anything signed on paper.
