Rule 44 Appeal Bond

If you are in a criminal case and you want the Georgia Supreme Court to review your case, filing that request does not automatically keep your appeal bond active. Your bond could end even after you file.

You must separately ask the Georgia Supreme Court to extend your appeal bond. This is an extra step you need to take on your own. If you skip this step, your bond may expire and you could face serious consequences while waiting for the court to decide your case.
