§ 1.6 Members

Here's a plain English summary of this rule:

To stay on the Board, a member must remain in good standing as a lawyer. This means they need to keep their Hawaiʻi Bar membership active or inactive, but never suspended or revoked for misconduct. They also can't have any problems with their law license status.

If the member is licensed to practice law in other states or places besides Hawaiʻi, they must stay in good standing there too. If a Board member loses good standing in Hawaiʻi or anywhere else they're licensed, they can no longer serve on the Board. Being a lawyer in good standing everywhere they're licensed is a basic requirement for holding this position.
