Art. 3576 Release of property under sequestration

When property gets seized under a sequestration order, the defendant has the first chance to get it back. They can do this within 10 days of the seizure by posting the bond or security described in Article 3507.

If the defendant does not act within those 10 days, the plaintiff then gets a chance to release the property instead. The plaintiff can do this by putting up the security required under Article 3508.

In short, this rule sets up a timeline. The defendant gets first crack at freeing the seized property, but if they let 10 days pass without doing anything, the plaintiff can step in and handle it themselves by posting the required security.
