Art. 3829 Notice of hearing

If someone is being held in custody because of an earlier court order, or because someone asked for that custody, the court has to give written notice before holding a hearing. That notice goes to whoever originally asked for the custody order or started the process that led to it.

In simple terms, the person or party responsible for the custody order can't be left out of the loop. They must be told about any upcoming hearing with enough time to prepare or respond. This gives them a fair chance to show up and have their say before the court makes any changes or decisions.
