IX § 4 Subsequent Applications

If you already asked for a rehearing once and the court granted it, you can't ask for another one after that. The court will only look at a second request for rehearing in one specific situation: if the court, when it issued its decision on the first rehearing, specifically said that the losing side could ask for another rehearing.

In other words, getting a second chance to ask the court to reconsider isn't something you can count on. It only happens if the court itself opens that door in its ruling. If the court doesn't say you can file again, asking a second time won't get you anywhere, the court won't even consider it.

This rule exists to keep cases from dragging on forever with repeated requests to reconsider. Once you've had your one shot at rehearing and the court ruled on it, that's normally the end of the road unless the court tells you otherwise.
