XLII § 9 Electronic Priority/Stay Requests

If you need to file something with the Louisiana Supreme Court that requires urgent attention, like a request to pause court proceedings or have your case looked at quickly, you can file it electronically. But before you upload anything, you must first call the Clerk of Court's office to let them know what you're doing.

When you do file the document online, you need to include a special cover sheet called the "Priority Filing Sheet." This sheet needs to be attached to your document when you upload it to the court's electronic filing system. This tells court staff right away that your filing needs fast attention.

This process exists so urgent requests do not get lost in the normal flow of paperwork. Calling ahead and using the correct form helps make sure someone at the court knows to look at your filing quickly, instead of waiting in line with routine documents.
