When a judge signs a death warrant, the court clerk has to quickly notify several people about it. The clerk must tell the district attorney, the lawyers on the case, and the Louisiana Supreme Court. This can be done by hand delivering copies of the warrant or by sending them through certified mail.

The clerk also has to send an email to the Supreme Court's clerk office, letting them know the warrant was signed. If the warrant was mailed, the clerk needs to file proof of that mailing in the case record so there's a paper trail showing everyone was properly notified.

This rule works alongside another Louisiana law (R.S. 15:567) that also covers death warrants. It doesn't replace that law, it just adds these extra notification steps on top of it.
