Rule 5.730 Mental Health Code; Application

Mental health cases about admitting or releasing someone from a mental health facility are handled in probate court. The probate court follows its standard rules for these cases.

There are some exceptions, though. The other rules in this same section of the Michigan Court Rules can change or override the usual probate rules when it comes to mental health cases specifically.
