When both sides agree to use an alternate trial judge instead of going through the regular court process, they need to put that agreement in writing and turn it in to the district court right away. Once the court approves this written agreement, the alternate judge takes over and handles the case from that point forward.

Even though a different judge is now running the trial, the paperwork rules don't change. All documents related to the case still have to be filed with the district court, just like in a normal case. This means following the standard Nevada rules for civil cases, any local court rules that apply, and the rules for appeals if the case gets appealed later.

In short, switching to an alternate trial judge changes who handles the case, but it doesn't change where or how paperwork gets filed. Everything still goes through the district court's normal filing system.
