Rule 4:42-4 Effect of Unsatisfied Judgment Against One or More of Several Persons Jointly Liable

If you win a lawsuit and get a judgment against one person, but that person does not pay you, you can still sue another person who shares responsibility for the same debt or harm.

Getting a judgment does not mean you have been paid. As long as the first judgment goes unpaid, your legal rights against the other responsible parties stay intact.
