Rule 28-102 Definitions.

This rule explains a few key terms used throughout the rules for the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission. Knowing what these words mean helps you understand how the evaluation process works.

The "commission" refers to the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission itself, the group responsible for reviewing how judges perform their jobs. The word "judge" covers several types of judges, including justices on the Supreme Court, judges on the Court of Appeals, district court judges, and metropolitan court judges. So any rule that mentions a "judge" applies to all these different levels of judges, not just one type.

Finally, an "agent" is any outside agency that the commission hires or authorizes to do work on its behalf. This means the commission does not have to do every task itself. It can bring in another organization to help carry out parts of the judicial evaluation process.
