§ 1067 Discontinuation of treatment by agency or institution

If a child has been placed in the care of an agency or facility by court order, that agency has to send the child back to the court in certain situations. This happens if the agency shuts down or stops operating, if it can no longer afford to care for the child because state or local funding has been cut off, or if it changes its program so much that the child can no longer get the help they were originally placed there for.

Basically, this rule protects kids from being left without care if something goes wrong with the agency taking care of them. The court stays involved and can step in to find the child a new placement if the original agency can't do the job anymore. This gives the court a way to check on the situation and make sure the child keeps getting the care they need.
