§ 145 Liability of judge

This rule protects family court judges from being sued when they issue orders or other legal documents as part of a case. If a judge acts in good faith and follows normal court procedures, that judge cannot be held personally responsible for the outcome, even if someone disagrees with the decision.

The only way a judge could be held liable is if someone can prove the judge acted with malice or deliberately abused their power. This means the judge would have had to knowingly misuse their authority for a bad reason, not just make a decision that turned out to be wrong or that one side didn't like.

For people involved in family court cases, this means you generally cannot sue a judge just because you disagree with their ruling. Judges need to be able to make tough calls without fear of being personally sued every time someone is unhappy with the result. This protection allows judges to do their jobs fairly and independently, as long as they are not acting with bad intentions or clearly misusing their power.
