§ 146 Temporary assignment of judges

This rule lets family court judges be sent to work in other counties for a short time. An administrative judge can make this happen when a county needs extra help handling its caseload or when courts need to work more closely together.

This means a judge you see in court might not be from your county. They could be filling in temporarily because another area is short-staffed or busy.
