Rule 9 Investigation
Rule Text
The Investigator shall conduct an investigation to determine whether formal proceedings should be instituted and a hearing held before the Supreme Court based upon a finding of probable cause. The Investigator shall complete their investigation within ninety (90) days from appointment, unless the Supreme Court permits an extension for good cause. The Investigator will:
(a) Receive the information, allegation, or complaint in writing only;
(b) With permission from the Supreme Court, be assisted by court staff who are instructed that the proceeding is confidential;
(c) With permission from the Supreme Court, be assisted by private investigators and other experts, as necessary, to investigate and process the matters before the Supreme Court, if necessary;
(d) Recommend a disposition; and
(e) Make and issue public statements only as authorized by these rules.
