§ 318 Effect of challenge allowed.

If someone successfully challenges a grand juror, that juror is removed from the case. The juror cannot sit in on any discussions about the charges against the person who made the challenge. They also cannot take part when the rest of the grand jury talks over the case or decides what to do.

This rule exists to keep things fair. If a juror shouldn't be judging a particular case, they need to be completely out of the process, not just quiet during the vote. They can't listen to arguments, review evidence, or sit in on the group's private discussions about that specific defendant.
