Rule 693a Bond in Divorce Case

In a divorce case, a judge can decide whether or not to require a bond when one spouse gets a temporary injunction against the other spouse.

Normally, when a court issues a temporary injunction, the person asking for it has to pay a bond. This is a sum of money held as a kind of guarantee. But in divorce cases, the judge has the power to skip that requirement.

This gives judges flexibility in divorce situations, where requiring a bond might create an unfair burden on one spouse, especially if that spouse has limited access to money during the divorce.
