Rule 693a Bond in Divorce Case

In a divorce case, the judge can choose to skip the bond requirement when one spouse gets a temporary injunction against the other spouse.

A bond is usually money that the person asking for an injunction must pay upfront. It acts as a safety net in case the injunction turns out to be wrong or unfair. In divorce cases, judges have the power to waive this requirement.

This gives judges flexibility in divorce cases. If requiring a bond would be a hardship, or if the situation calls for quick action, the judge can move forward without one.
