Rule 763 Service of Writ of Partition

When a court orders a partition (dividing up property between owners), a special document called a writ of partition must be delivered to the commissioners named in it. These commissioners are the people the court has chosen to handle the actual division of the property.

To properly serve this writ, someone must read it out loud to each commissioner. They also need to hand a certified copy of the court's order to at least one of the commissioners.
