Rule 607 Who May Impeach

Any person who testifies in court can have their credibility questioned. This means other people in the case can point out reasons why the jury might not want to fully believe what that witness said.

In the past, if you brought a witness to court, you were stuck with their testimony and could not challenge it. That is no longer the case in Washington. Now, even if you called someone to the stand yourself, you can still question or challenge their credibility if needed.
