Rule 5.3.6 When documents considered filed.

When you need to file papers with the probate court, you must bring them to the clerk's office. The clerk is the official place where your documents get recorded and stored.

In some cases, a judge may allow you to hand your papers directly to them instead. If that happens, the judge will write the filing date on your documents and then send them to the clerk's office right away.
