Rule 5.3.7 Effective date of orders.

When a judge signs an order, it officially takes effect the moment it is filed with the court, not when it was written or signed.

Sometimes a judge can make an order apply to an earlier date. This is called "nunc pro tunc," which is a Latin phrase meaning "now for then." A judge might do this to correct a mistake or to reflect what should have happened at an earlier point in time.
