XXXIII Pt. I § 4 Pilot program

If a court sets up a specialized division under this rule, it starts out as a trial run. The division can only operate for six years from the day it first begins, unless the state legislature passes a law making it permanent before that time runs out.

This gives lawmakers a chance to see how the specialized division works before deciding whether to keep it around for good. If the six years pass and the legislature has not acted, the authority to run the division on this temporary basis ends. This rule was last updated in October 2003.
