XXXV § 7 Immunity

If you serve on the Judicial Campaign Oversight Committee, or work as staff for the committee, you cannot be sued for actions you take while doing your official job. This protection is called immunity, and it means people cannot take you to civil court over decisions or work you did as part of your committee duties.

This rule exists so committee members and staff can do their jobs without being afraid of lawsuits. Judicial campaigns can get heated, and people involved in overseeing them need to be able to make honest decisions and give honest opinions without worrying about getting sued personally for it.

Keep in mind this protection only covers official duties. It applies to actions taken as part of the job, not personal conduct outside of that role.
